Animoog for iPhone App Reviews

My very favorite synthesis app, a lot of useful tweaks: all the scales (modes), presets as examples (InApp addOn), visualizer with controller, et al, symbiotically offering that original "knobs-and-sliders" immediacy to playing where its intuitive and almost autonomous to reach out and adjust, knowing what will happen or be happily surprised by the results. With an iPad version, external midi USB keyboard (plus Apple adapter(s)), and youre set for months of hours long Jam sessions. Record, save, share (iOS 8), read the tutorial, & enjoy. Theres no one way to do synth, but this does Moog well, has been out for years, and keeps working. Did I mention it sounds awesome? A diverse palette from expert designers. Cant go wrong.

But when are they going to add the HOLD button for iPhone? Such a crucial, simple feature. Its a tiny button on the iPad version, cant you just add it to the iPhone real quick?!

I have this for iPad and love it, but you only get one octave to play with and you cant expand the range like you can with the iPad version.

Animoog, one of the best, just got better! Now with more vitamin A(udiobus).

Ridiculously good / fun for cheap.

Great with a Fiio adapter! Straight out of the i-device DAC into a stereo splitter, into 2 line ins panned left/right. Sound quality is outstanding!!

Really excited to download this app and start playing, really disappointed with bugs , once open it disables the main speaker and sends all audio out the ear speaker, also have to toggle the background audio setting to get any patch other than the default to sound. Hope to get update or resolution soon. 6s plus.

I had this app on my iPhone 4 and it worked great. It was a ton of fun and I couldnt wait to try it out on my new phone with a bigger screen and louder speaker. So far, Ive been disappointed. The audio quality on the app is very poor on this new phone and software. I suspect they need an update to the app to communicate properly with the new audio card. Please update us soon!

As a previous reviewer states, the app needs UI work. Just downloaded the most recent update hoping for a rework of at least the keyboard for iPhone 6/6plus but its non existent. Why the limitation of onscreen keys when there is plenty of touchscreen realestate to be had? I see 9 keys where there could be closer to 13 with the elimination of excess space between notes...

This is the best synth app on ios, but even after the ios 9/ iPhone 6s update, the app still crashes in audio bus.

The iPhone 6 has been released for over a year and the resolution of this app is still stretched to an iPhone 5/5s resolution. As another reviewer mentioned, the keyboard key spacing still needs to be fixed.

Like its iPad counterpart, Animoog for iPhone is excellent.

I love moog always have. My first synth in the 80s was a mini. I love this app too BUT beware there is an issue with buying the expansion packs!!!! I bought this app years ago when it first came out (big Moog fan) and every expansion pack as they came out. I bought them all. As phones and iPads come and go I would re download on new device and restore purchases from the "Store". On several occasions the packs would not Fully restore. Ive bought the Grateful Dead pack 3x now. Some packs always restore but many do not for some odd reason. According to support in the Moog website, go through the steps and re buy the packs, you wont be charged....Dont do this. I am always re charged. Again I was charged again. Funny because my iPad still had the pack that the app said I didnt own on it. Oh well. Ive spent too much on this app. I does sound Amazing, but Im done paying to re buy things Ive already bought. Also to get the 4track recorder to work you have to register Everytime you upgrade your device. Also Ive bought the midi expansion, obviously, but it ALWAYS makes me re buy that too. Not cool Moog. Not cool. Oh and I paid $29.00 for the app and a small app fortune buying and re buying the expansion packs. I see that the app is now .99¢. Well that makes me feel good haha

This is such crap. You will go nuts trying to adjust the attack on the amp. I cant get it to move. Screw you guys

I like the synth and its overall fun and amazing but.... Moog, stop being lame about IAA. Its useless without being able to play right into the pocket DAWs. Such a shame companies go 3/4 of the way to a prefect app.

When I attempt to audiocopy a sound, a screen pops up stating that audiocopy only supports 44100hz... I checked my settings & all is good on my end. Please fix!

its made by MOOG - what are you thinking? get it! theres so much to this app that once you realize how the X Y screen function - and how you can alter and create new functions - you might just forget other responsibilities in life. both the iPhone v and iPad v are great (but the iPad v has a true 4 track thats an in-app, but if you wait till around Xmas - maybe youll get it for free - maybe). yea there are bugs, but anything this great is gonna have constant ghosts in its machine. if youre looking for a mini Moog or Modular 55, etc. this is NOT it. its its own thing for the mobile device era.

Not only does this App do amazing things, but the developers really pay attention to the users. I submitted a feature request that was promptly replied to. The feature was included in the next release. Fantastic!

If possible an Ableton link update would be Fantastic PLEASE? I shoulda rated the app sooner bought on my iPad and iPhone and the in app purchases and they have been maintained a top notch an constantly improve. WORTH IT! Thanks an hopefully new artist/Ableton packs?

Great synth, as is the iPad version,but I would suggest making iaps shareable with the iPad version because I bought all the iaps for the iPad version and to be honest, I have no intention of buying them again for the iPhone version and I doubt others will, so stop the greed, I already bought the iPad version, the iPhone version and all the iaps for the iPad version, cut us a break!!!
